Inspired by M. C. Escher’s Snakes (July 1969), this classic unisex tee features the artist’s final print, a remarkable composition in which three serpents weave through a circular network of interlocking rings. The rings grow progressively smaller toward both the center and the outer edge, creating the impression of a structure that continues beyond the limits of the image.

The snakes move in and out of this intricate lattice, their realistically rendered bodies contrasting with the precise, repeating geometry that surrounds them. The result is a fascinating interplay between the organic and the mathematical, where living forms appear to navigate an almost endless structure.

Created through an exceptionally demanding woodcut process, *Snakes* was printed from three separate wooden blocks, one for each color: green, orange, and black. Escher rotated the blocks around a central point to construct the continuous circular composition, bringing extraordinary technical discipline to a design filled with movement and complexity.

Completed in July 1969, this work represents the culmination of Escher’s lifelong exploration of symmetry, visual order, and the suggestion of infinity. Every interlocking ring and finely carved scale rewards closer inspection, revealing new details within an apparently continuous pattern.
