Created around 1490 during the Italian Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s *Uomo Vitruviano*, known in English as the *Vitruvian Man*, explores the relationship between human anatomy, geometry, and mathematical proportion. Inspired by the writings of the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius, Leonardo placed the human figure within a circle and a square, investigating how the proportions of the body relate to these fundamental geometric forms.<\/p>\n
The drawing embodies Leonardo\u2019s relentless curiosity and his belief that art and scientific observation belong to the same pursuit of knowledge.
